“Living on the roofs ain’t as glamorous as it might seem, and since those rats arrived everything has turned harder. Food’s running low and the alleys have become quite a dangerous place”. – Bati
Did you know that certain characters in Stars in the Trash were based on real-life animals? That’s the case with Bati, who was inspired by one of our chief animator’s cats.

“Bati’s mother passed away in the street shortly after giving birth. When we found her, she was pretty small, filthy, malnourished, and she looked more like a bat than a cat, that’s why we called her Bati – Javier.

Many feeding bottlers, warm blankets and tons of love after that Bati thrived and become a playful and affectionate cat that has inspired one of the most loved characters in our game. Either Stars in the Trash’s Bati and real-life Bati share not only the name, but the physical appearance and personality as well, being both a bit boastful, incredibly intelligent and somewhat suspicious.
You can see her in the video game, walking hither and dither in a hurry. Where is she going…?

The latest from Valhalla Cats and things I found interesting this week:
- In celebration of American Heart Month, take a look at the infographic for tips and instructions on performing CPR on your feline friends.
- I found this interesting Kickstarter: “The Ask Your Cat Deck finally gives humans access to a cat’s limitless brilliance. Each card offers a different answer to life’s burning questions. Now you can tap into your cat’s genius with these 50 answer cards loaded with cattitude“.
Thank you for your time. I hope you enjoyed the read.
Have a wonderful day,
Jose
